“giving up to gravity, on the edge of insanity”
Written at Opus Hut in the San Juan Mountains of Colorado this rollicking tune celebrates the weightless abandon of downhill runs, finding the sweet spot between careful and crazy, fear and flow. We arrived just after a snowstorm and skied 4 glorious days of fresh powder. On the last morning I stared out across the valley at our tracks, feeling a deep physical, kinesthetic memory of each run -- the dips and drops, the gullies and pillowed boulders, the narrow chutes and wide open run-outs where we put our skins back on and headed back up. Whether on skis, wheels, or waves, the thrill of speed, the sensation of the earth rolling by, the sense of oneness with the undulating terrain, and the mastery of fear keeps us coming back for more rides.
